IN A NUTSHELL
David has been photographing people professionally for over 15 years. His contemporary approach leads to creative, trendy photos which tell an individual story of each wedding day as events unfold. He loves candid monochrome pictures and provides all clients with an additional set of images in black and white along with some quirky vintage lightroom filters.
By limiting assignments to around 40 a year, David can give each wedding his total commitment, always producing a unique set of images.
Why do you want to work with us?
Everyone should have the right to marry. For me, love is love, so the recent change in legislation was long overdue. I particularly like working with gay and lesbian couples as their approach to the day is usually a little less formal, leading to more natural, storytelling pictures.
What is your approach to weddings?
I was an early adopter of relaxed documentary style wedding photography, capturing the essence of the day, with guests looking relaxed, happy and mostly unposed. Clients say this approach helps them feel totally at ease being center of attention for the day.
What do you love about what you do?
Simply being such an important part of a couple’s special day has always felt like a privilege and never a job to me.
What’s your favourite wedding song?
Village People’s YMCA. Undoubtedly the standout moment from all my weddings came when two guys entered the room handing out fancy dress hats and props to guests. That intro to the song is unforgettable!
There’s a small travel surcharge for weddings outside Kent. However, this is more than offset as photographers based away from London do usually charge considerably less.
